The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at the University of Jordan, in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering and the King Abdullah II School of Information Technology, held the first season of the "Course Projects Competition" for entrepreneurial projects. The competition included students from the Industrial Engineering and Electrical Engineering departments, as well as students from various departments of the King Abdullah II School of Information Technology.
The first project, "Ask Wicki," by students Shaimaa Al-Akhras, Noor Harahsheh, Sandra Awad, and Lana Abdurrahman from the King Abdullah II School of Information Technology, supervised by Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jarrah and Dr. Dima Suleiman, is a specialized mobile application in the medical field. It was programmed using artificial intelligence and machine learning to answer user questions related to various diseases.
The second project, "Smart Irrigation System," by students Youssef Rahal, Ahmed Al-Noubani, and Hamza Hilal from the Electrical Engineering department, supervised by Dr. Jamal Rahhal, is an intelligent automatic irrigation system to reduce and optimize water consumption in farms by determining the plant type and its water needs, along with other system features.
The third project, "U-Work," by students Abeer Al-Rawashdeh, Noor Al-Laham, and Dalal Nazzal from the Industrial Engineering department, supervised by Dr. Awad Dabbaneh, is an electronic platform that provides a service to offer available training opportunities for university students, especially those whose graduation requires practical training in specialized sector institutions.
The competition will provide support to students at the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, including direct financial support of 500 JD for each project, as well as logistical, technical support, and networking services.
