ACM JU Mini Contest Programming Competition

The King Abdullah II School of Information Technology at the University of Jordan, represented by the ACM JU team, organized the ACM JU Mini Contest programming competition. The competition aimed to motivate, train, and prepare students to participate in global programming competitions. The importance of the competition lies in encouraging students to think and solve mathematical and programming problems using various programming languages like C++, Java, and Python. The competition consisted of 10 programming problems that students attempted to solve within 3 continuous hours.

27 teams from the King Abdullah II School of Information Technology and the Faculty of Engineering participated in the competition, with each team consisting of 3 students and over 15 volunteers from the ACM student team under the supervision of Dr. Heba Saadeh.

The competition kicked off in the Ahmed Al-Louzi Auditorium at the King Abdullah II School of Information Technology, with the presence of the Dean, Prof. Saleh Al-Sharaiea, and the college's administrative staff. The competition format was explained by Dr. Heba Saadeh and student Hamza Amayreh. This competition followed intense training sessions organized by the college through the ACM JU team to enhance students' problem-solving skills and prepare them for local, regional, and international competitions. Over 500 students from various Jordanian universities attended these training sessions held at the University of Jordan over three consecutive weeks.

The team "TLEonRegistration," consisting of students Omar Abu Ubaida, Randa Abu Al-Raqib, and Omar Al-Kassasbeh, secured the first place. The team "Good Question," comprising students Omar Waqad, Saheeb Saleh, and Mohammed Abu Qatam, achieved the second place. Lastly, the team "MMO," consisting of students Musa Dradka, Mohammed Al-Arqaan, and Othman Al-Qawakneh, earned the third place.

This competition and the intensive training were part of the University of Jordan's efforts, especially the King Abdullah II School of Information Technology, to support outstanding students in programming skills, provide regular training to enhance their skills, and prepare them to excel in upcoming competitions at the local, regional, and global levels.
