The University of Jordan, represented by the King Abdullah II College of Information Technology, launched the first specialized cybersecurity platform, the "Cyber Security Hub" (JUCC), for its members across various careers and categories. The event was held today under the patronage of University President Dr. Nazir Obeidat, and attended by his deputies, a group of faculty members and students at the college, and representatives of partner sectors in the field of cybersecurity. Prior to launching the platform, Obeidat said, "Cyber threats are increasing day by day, and the ideas of students and their professors are the path to the future, to knowledge production, and to the production of knowledge." He noted that they bear the responsibility of defending against threats that have surpassed military threats in their severity. In his speech, he added that we at the University of Jordan are proud of what we have achieved. This year, the first cohort of cybersecurity students will graduate from the King Abdullah II School of Information Technology, ranked among the top 100 colleges in the world. It also houses state-of-the-art laboratories, staffed by experts in electronic games, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. He also noted that the Electronic Games Center will begin operations soon. The supervisor of the “JUCC” platform project from the college, Dr. Iman Al-Momani, decided to give the student team who worked on the project with great diligence and perseverance for a whole year until today, when the platform’s launch was announced, the opportunity to present the nature of the tasks assigned to them and the amount of work they put forth in the various stages of completing the project. She emphasized that the college is full of many distinguished students armed with various specialized cognitive sciences and practical skills, and capable of inventing creative ideas and turning them into reality.
