Bachelor of Business Information Technology / Program Overview

Ø Background to the program and subject area:

The Business Information Technology (BIT) Department was established in 2003-2004 at King Abdullah II School for Information Technology (KASIT) in Jordan University. Since its establishment, the BIT department is aimed at the preparation of highly qualified students to be effective users and managers of information technology and systems in the current environment of the technology- enabled business firms. The curriculum for this department is designed to:
1. Ensure that students will receive excellent knowledge on the function to which computers are applied in organizations,
2. Ensure that students will get good Knowledge and training on the design and development of computing applications in the area of Web Publishing and E – Business,
3. Make sure that information technology knowledge will foster students' capability and creativity in decision making, as well as will serve to engage students'  in meaningful problem- solving activities.

A leading program in information technology and business that plays a key role in development and modernization and serves as a model program with a big impact on local and global communities. It exhibits leadership, moral decision-making, and a commitment to social responsibility

Ø Mission statements of the program:
To enable student to skillfully design and implement business information technology solutions and so contribute to sustainable development on both local and global stages, we aim to provide students a deep grasp of the synergy between business and technology​

Ø Program Objectives:
  1. Graduates will demonstrate the ability to apply innovative solutions and entrepreneurial thinking in the design, development, and implementation of business information technology solutions, contributing to the growth and competitiveness of enterprises.
  2. Graduates will possess the skills and knowledge to effectively manage and leverage technology resources in organizational settings, ensuring the seamless integration of information technology to enhance business processes, decision-making, and strategic planning.
  3. Graduates will be equipped with a global perspective and cultural competence, enabling them to work collaboratively in diverse international settings. They will understand and appreciate the impact of technology on global business practices and contribute to sustainable development both locally and globally.
  4. Graduates will exhibit ethical leadership qualities, understanding the ethical implications of technology decisions. They will be socially responsible professionals, contributing to the well-being of society through the ethical application of business information technology solutions.
