Course Description : | This course aims to provide students with a solid background in information systems analysis and design techniques through a combination of theory and practice. Students will be provided with the skills that are necessary for the analysis and design of information systems, and will apply these skills in a step-bystep manner leading from the recognition of a problem to the implementation of a solution on a case study. The course is divided into four major parts: Systems Analysis Fundamentals (Part I), Information Requirements Analysis (Part II), The Analysis Process (Part III), The Essentials of Design (Part IV). Delivery will combine traditional lectures with other active teaching methodologies, such as group discussions, group solving problems, analysis of cases and debates, case study from healthcare domain, and assignments. Assignments will include a term project illustrative of professional practice in computer information systems analysis and design.
