Ø Background to the program and subject area:
The idea behind establishing a doctoral program in computer science is based on real needs of the Jordanian and Arab job market for such a pioneered program. Following are the most important justifications for this program:
1.Growing needs for faculty members and researchers who hold doctoral degrees in computer science and information technology.
2.Increase the number of students who want to become specialists in different areas of information technology along with a high market demand for specialized graduates in this field of study.
3.Lack of PhD programs in computer science in Jordan and in the Arab world except in very few universities.
4.Availability of the supporting resources at UJ, including: laboratories, software, subscriptions in scientific journals in the field of information technology. In addition, KASIT has the human factors to run the program; where it has 22 full professors, 22 associate professors and 7 assistant professors. KASIT faculty members have supervised many master theses and have published a lot of research papers in prestigious refereed international journals, which made them qualified to run the proposed PhD program.
Ø Vision statements of the program:
Provide a high quality education for Jordanian and Arab international students in the key aspects of computer science, therefore enabling them to become distinguished researchers in this exciting field.
Ø Mission statements of the program:
PhD Program in Computer Science that offers advanced theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of computer science and the best state-of-the-art approaches in computer science.
Ø Program Aims:
