The University of Jordan (UJ), represented by King Abdullah II School of Information Technology and Huawei Jordan, organised a Career Day as part of their continuous efforts to support talent and provide real employment opportunities for fresh graduates in the fields of telecommunications engineering and information technology.
The event was held in the presence of senior academic and corporate representatives, including UJ’s vice presidents, Dean of the school, as well as Huawei’s Human Resources Director, Li Hairong; and Government Affairs Director, Zhao Fengming.
UJ President, Prof. Nathir Obeidat, delivered an opening speech highlighting the importance of strong partnerships between universities and the private sector. He emphasised that collaborations with leading technology companies like Huawei play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between academic education and market demand, while providing students and graduates with real-world exposure and career-building opportunities.
CEO of Huawei Jordan, Yang Ming, delivered a keynote speech reaffirming the company’s dedication to investing in young Jordanian talents. He stated that Huawei is committed to hiring fresh graduates without requiring previous work experience, believing that passion, determination, and individual potential are the true foundations of strong and forward-thinking teams.
Huawei provided comprehensive insights into its 2025 employment plan, highlighting a range of career opportunities across its various ICT solution departments. In addition, Huawei presented its robust onboarding and career development programs, which are designed to equip new hires with both technical competencies and soft skills essential for thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative, and innovation-driven environment.
Huawei Jordan announced that candidates accepted into the program will not only have the opportunity to work within the company's Jordan office but also be eligible to apply for positions in Huawei offices across the Middle East and Central Asia, as part of Huawei’s regional talent mobility and development programs.
This initiative falls under Huawei’s broader strategy to support Jordan’s digital transformation journey by investing in local talent and building sustainable partnerships with educational institutions. The company reaffirmed that empowering youth and integrating them into the tech ecosystem is essential for driving a knowledge-based economy.
The event witnessed strong engagement from students and graduates who visited Huawei’s booth in large numbers, showing keen interest in the presented career paths. Their active participation reflects a growing desire among Jordanian youth to contribute to leading tech companies and be part of the digital future.
