JCPC at KASIT

The King Abdullah II School of Information Technology (KASIT) at the University of Jordan (UJ) in collaboration with the Jordan Programmers Association organized the 2017 Jordanian Collegiate Programming Contest (JCPC).
 
The contest saw the participation of 90 teams from universities across the kingdom.
 
The winning universities are: Princess Sumaya University- first place, Jordan University of Science and Technology - second and third place, and the University of Jordan - fourth place.
 
Each team, comprised of three students and an academic supervisor, worked in a competitive environment to solve 13 programming problems in 5 hours.
 
"This competition provides a great platform for Jordanian programmers to raise their efficiency and enhance their competitiveness on the local, regional, and global levels," said UJ Vice President Prof. Zaid Bqa'een, who patronized the conclusion of the contest.

 
Dr. Ahmad Al Hussein, General Manager of the Jordan Ahli Bank, thanked UJ for hosting this competition, calling on the students to continue to learn and buildup on their skills in the field.
 
Dr. Ashraf Ahmed, Chairman of the Association of Jordanian Computer Programmers and Chairman of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) ICPC Levant Region, spoke about the history of the international contest which dates back to 1987, and was held for the first time in Jordan in 2010.
 
The winning teams will participate in the Arab Collegiate Programming Contest (ACPC), which is a qualifying round for the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC).
